Terms and conditions of Midi Ecole Escalade asbl

The bouldering courses for children and adults given at Petite Ile are organized and managed by:

Article 1 

The climbing lessons take place in Petite Ile SRL, Rue Petite Ile 1A, 1070 Brussels. The access to the venue falls under the terms and conditions and the house rules of Petite Ile SRL. Please read them carefully. 

By accepting the terms and conditions of Midi Ecole Escalade ASBL you also accept the terms and conditions of Petite Ile SRL. 

Article 2 TIMETABLE, CHALENDAR AND PRICES

For each course organised by the ASBL full informations are provided in the website of Petite Ile:

Article 3 CALENDAR OF CLASSES 

Adults courses are provided with specific dates of classes. More info is provided at https://petite-ile.be/en/adults/

Courses for children and adolescents follows the French school calendar made public by the authorities every year. More info is provided at https://petite-ile.be/en/youth/

Article 4 SUBSCRIPTIONS TO COURSES FOR KIDS

Only the adult legally in charge of the child can subscribe the minor to the courses. Subscriptions can only be made online.  

To subscribe a child to the bouldering courses it is necessary to: 

  1. Access the WEBSHOP HERE
  2. Select the course on the base of:
    1. the age of the kid, 
    2. its experience, 
    3. the frequency of courses (1 or 2 courses per week) and/or the day of preference,
    4. the length of the subscription (September to December, September to June or January to June). 
  3. Create an account in the name of the child providing the required info on the adult legally in charge of the child. 
  4. Read the information and safety and insurance at Petite Ile
  5. Read and approve the document ‘Terms and Conditions - Annex: Climbing courses organized in cooperation with Midi Ecole escalade ASBL - Year 2022-2023’ 
  6. The legal tutor must sign the contract. 
  7. Pay on-line by card or via bank transfer within 5 days from the subscription date. 

Article 5  INSURANCE INFORMATION   

  1. Each participant of the course, their parent or legal guardian, acknowledges and accepts that there are dangers associated with the practice of climbing. 
  2. Each climber must be in possession of personal insurance. The climber is aware that they can subscribe to an insurance of the Club Alpin Belge. (see www.clubalpin.be for more information)
  3. Petite Ile SRL and Midi Ecole d'Escalade ASBL have taken out the following insurance policies with KBC Assurances SA:   
    1. Personal Accidents - which covers the member if they are injured in the climbing gym, for their medical expenses not reimbursed by the members Health insurance, with a ceiling of 2 478,94 euro (with a deductible of 24,79 € per person and per accident). This policy also includes an indemnity in case of death (2.500 €) and in case of permanent disability (amount limited to 12.500 €).   
    2. Civil liability - which intervenes if the responsibility of Petite Ile SRL or Midi Ecole d'Escalade ASBL is called into question in the event of bodily and/or material damage that you suffer. The intervention of the insurer is limited to 2.500.000 € per claim, with an deductible of 250 €. The deductible is only applied in case of material damage, not in case of physical injury.  

Every person that climbs or subscribe to a course at Petite Ile accepts to be covered by the two insurances above mentioned and accepts their conditions.  

Article 6 HOUSE RULES CONCERNING THE COURSES  

  1. The participant must arrive 10 to 5 minutes before the start of the course. 
  2. If the participant is a minor, during the time of the course the parents or the legal guardians are asked to remain in the cafeteria area, leave the gym or climb without interfering with the instructions of the instructor. 
  3. Outside of the timeslot of the course children are not allowed to enter the fitness/stretching are and to use or touch any tool present in the area (swissball, elastics, rings etc). 
  4. It is allowed that after the course the participant (kids and adults) keep o climbing freely in the gym with condition that they keep on respecting the safety and house rules above mentioned. 
  5. Outside of the timeslot of the courses the adult participants exercise automatically under their own responsibility.
  6. Outside of the timeslot of the courses the children are automatically under the responsibility of their legal tutor – even if the legal tutor is not present in the gym (e.g. they are late to pick up the kid at the end of the course). 
  7. Outside of the timeslot of the courses it is responsibility of the legal tutor to supervise the safety of the kid as well as to supervise that the house rules are respected. 
  8. The personnel working at Petite Ile and the instructors from Midi ASBL are entitled to exclude any person, child and family that do not comply with the above listed conditions during or outside the timeslot of the courses. 
  9. On top of these house rules, each participant of the course also accepts the house rules of Petite Ile SRL

Article 7 CANCELLATION AND REFUND POLICY FOR KIDS COURSES

  1. The subscription can be cancelled up to 30 days before the start of the courses. In this case the legal tutor will be fully refunded of the price of the course. 
  2. The subscription to the course can be also cancelled in case the child must stop practicing bouldering for medical reasons for the rest of the year. 
  3. In this case the legal tutor must provide a medical certificate and will be reimbursed of the value of the courses that the child is not able to attend.  
  4. No reimbursements or discount are given in case the child for medical or other reasons cannot attend a part of the classes, e.g. is absent for a period and comes back attending the courses after the pause.   
  5. In order to cancel the child subscription the legal tutor must send an email to: courses@petite-ile.be.

Article 8 CANCELLATION AND REFUND POLICY FOR ADULTS COURSES

For the Discovery Sessions:

  1. The subscription can be cancelled up to 24 hours before the start of the courses. In this case the participant will be fully refunded of the price of the course via its clubsolde.
  2. The subscription to the course can be also cancelled in case the participant must stop practicing bouldering for medical reasons.
  3. In this case the participant must provide a medical certificate and will be reimbursed of the value of the courses that the child is not able to attend via its clubsolde.
  4. In order to cancel the subscription the participant must send an email to: courses@petite-ile.be

For all others courses:

  1. The subscription can be cancelled up to 1 week before the start of the courses. In this case the participant will be fully refunded of the price of the course via its clubsolde.
  2. The subscription to the course can be also cancelled in case the participant must stop practicing bouldering for medical reasons.
  3. In this case the participant must provide a medical certificate and will be reimbursed of the value of the courses that the child is not able to attend via its clubsolde.
  4. No reimbursements or discount are given in case the participant for medical or other reasons cannot attend a part of the classes, e.g. is absent for a period and comes back attending the courses after the pause.   
  5. In order to cancel the subscription the participant must send an email to: courses@petite-ile.be
